We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have...

“Stuff your eyes with wonder . . . live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories. “

Spring Break. Two words that to every student, no matter the age, are a godsend. I am sitting in my living room watching my roommate pack for her spring break adventure, avoiding the last bit of cleaning and packing I have to finish still, and got to thinking. Honestly, I am feeling a little down tonight, I think it’s a mixture of the snow outside, the cold I am desperately trying to fight and the lack of adventure I feel like I will have this spring break. It’s funny how when I think about vacations I always dream up these wonderful scenarios of great things to do and see, even though in reality I know that I will most likely be sitting at home. Because of this, I was inspired to make a list of things to do, adventures if you will, that I can do while at home. A staycation can be just as fun as a vacation with the right mindset ☺ SO without further ado, my mini adventures for the week:

1) Go to the Library and get a good book, then take it to a park I don’t normally go to and just get lost in the story.
2) Visit someplace in town I don’t go enough. Window shopping in a funky strip mall, walking through a touristy place I never go to anymore….something along those lines.
3) Re-connect with people I have lost touch with. One of the best things about spring break is a lot of old friends are also wondering around home bored.
4) Get ready and truly go OUT. Bar, Club, Fancy Dinner, anywhere really, but OUT. I feel like as a 20-something my going out experience is very limited but now is the time to change that.
5) Take a day trip somewhere.
6) Be courageous, spontaneous, silly. As my best friend would say LIVE NOW
7) Say yes to at least one thing I want to say no to. Let it change my life
8) Do as much as I can with my family. It’s one of the best parts of being home right?
9) Get REALLY crazy once.
10) Help someone out. This is prolly the most important one. I want to do something to make someone else’s spring break a little better ☺

A meager list I admit, but it’s a start. I have some not fun things I have to do over spring break, and now I have a list of some very fun things to also do over spring break. Reading these you might think that I am crazy, or boring, or maybe even a little shallow, but I think that everyone can relate to feeling bored and uninspired by life, or disappointed when time off seems wasted. Finding little things to fill your time and make you smile is the best way to live your life, and have the whole thing feel like an adventure after all. Hopefully my list can give you some idea if your just hanging round home for your break. At the very list reading this blog will give you something to do. Get inspired, and go out and live your life to the fullest.
